How styled text behaves on Discord
Discord is the most permissive place on this list. Nicknames, server names, channel names and your status all take the full range of styles with no validator fighting you, and a nickname is per-server, so you can be decorated in one place and plain in another. That freedom is why Discord is the one platform where heavier styles genuinely earn their place. The limit is social rather than technical: in a busy server, people need to find your name in a member list and type it to mention you, and a name nobody can type is a name nobody addresses.

Yes, but make it easy. Mentions are matched as you type, so a name beginning with a decorative symbol is hard to reach. Start with a normal letter and the autocomplete finds you from the first keystroke.
Can I style channel names? ๏ผ
Channel names take styled characters, and a divider at the start is the usual way servers group related channels. Discord lowercases and strips spaces in channel names, so check how yours comes out after saving.
Does a styled nickname follow me between servers? ๏ผ
No. A nickname is set per server, and your account name is the fallback where you have not set one. That is handy โ you can keep a plain account name and style only the servers where it suits.
